Morondava enjoys a dry tropical climate. The dry season runs roughly from April to October, with warm, sunny days (around 25–30°C on average) and cooler nights. This is the ideal time to travel, as rain is very scarce and the ocean breeze tempers the heat.
In the rainy season (November to March), temperatures climb higher (sometimes 35°C or more) with high humidity and frequent thunderstorms. During this wet period, some dirt roads can become difficult to access.
