Northern Madagascar tour 2026 season - Descriptions
This 12-day tour introduces you to the essentials of northern Madagascar. After arriving in Antananarivo, you fly to Diego-Suarez for a city tour before exploring the Montagne des Français and the magnificent Three Bays. You then continue to the Montagne d’Ambre, a green haven with waterfalls and lush forests, then to the astonishing Red Tsingy before reaching the Ankarana National Park, famous for its tsingy, caves and canyons.
The route then takes you to Ambanja, in the heart of cacao, spice and ylang-ylang plantations, before reaching the paradise island of Nosy Be. You enjoy excursions to Nosy Tanikely and Nosy Komba, between snorkeling and encounters with lemurs. The stay ends with a visit to the Lokobe reserve, Lemurialand, and an unforgettable sunset on Mount Passot, before your international flight.

Day 1 – Arrival in Antananarivo
Upon your arrival in Antananarivo with your international flight, you are warmly welcomed by our team and then transferred to Ikopa Hotel or similar where you settle comfortably for your first night in the capital.

Day 2 – Antananarivo - Diego Suarez
After breakfast, you take a domestic flight towards Diego-Suarez. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and then depart for a city tour to discover its lively districts, its market and its charming colonial houses.

Day 3 – Visit of the Montagne des Français
This day is devoted to exploring the Montagne des Français. Between rocky trails and breathtaking views over the bay of Diego, you enjoy a hike rich in discoveries. Return at the end of the day and overnight at the hotel.

Day 4 – Excursion to the three bays

Day 5 – Diego Suarez - Joffreville

Day 6 – Joffreville - Red Tsingy – Ankarana
Early departure towards the famous Red Tsingy, a unique natural site formed by erosion, with impressive ochre and red hues. After the visit, drive towards the Ankarana massif.
