Day 1 – Antananarivo

Day 2 – Antananarivo – Ankarafantsika
The second day of your Nosy Be Madagascar Tour, accompanied by your guide, you will take the national road n° 4 to reach the capital of the Boeny region. The landscape is marked by the omnipresence of lavaka, a trace of the action of erosion. You will pass by the National Park of Ankarafantsika composed of dense and dry forest as well as lakes. The park is constituted of a protected ecosystem that is qualified as a paradise for several species of birds, notably endemic ones such as the eagle of Madagascar. Ankarafantsika is also the refuge of species of lemurs of which the smallest in the world, the Microcebus, reptiles such as fresh water turtles, chameleons, iguanas, snakes and crocodiles.

Day 3 – Ankarafantsika – Ambanja
Early in the morning, you will leave for Ambanja, the valley of perfumes but also the gateway to visit Nosy Be Madagascar. The journey of 628 km linking the two capitals will be done in two stages, the first one to Antsohihy where you will be installed in a hotel before taking the road to Ambanja. From Ambanja to Antsohihy, the landscape is dominated by a shrubby savannah and the vegetation changes while advancing towards Ambanja. Do not miss the visit of the dhow port of Antsohihy before continuing your journey.
After the stage on Antsohihy, heading to Ambanja by borrowing the National 6. As you progress in the northwestern circuit of Madagascar, the change of landscape is felt with the appearance of the luxuriant vegetations, the trees of the traveler, the plantations of cocoa trees, mango trees and coffee trees the edge of the RN 6 to announce that you will enter the valley of Sambirano.

Day 4 – Ambanja – Nosy Be
The transfer to Nosy Be will be done at the port of Ankify, located at about twenty kilometers from Ambanja. Usually, travelers have the choice between a ferry, a boat or a speedboat. The journey takes 30 minutes for the speedboats, 2 hours for the boats and even more time for the ferry (ideal to take a vehicle).
Very rich in biodiversity with a very strong endemism of flora and fauna, Nosy Be is often in the list of places of passage of many tourist circuits in Madagascar. Upon your arrival in this island, your guide will install you in your hotel before making you visit the city center and then the few beaches not too far away like Madirokely – Ambatoloaka and Andilana which is one of the most beautiful of Nosy Be. Day 5 – Lokobe Reserve
The transfer to Lokobe will be done in two stages: by car and by traditional dugout. To move from your hotel to any place, you can contact a car rental agency in Madagascar.
To go to the fishermen village of Ambatozavavy, the transfer will be done by car. It is there that you will be embarked in a traditional dugout to join the reserve of Lokobe. You will appreciate the beauty of a luxuriant landscape during the crossing. The vegetation is mostly made up of traveler’s tree, mangrove forest still preserved in its wild state. The reserve of Lokobe shelters a community of fauna and flora endemic to Madagascar including lemurs, chameleons… as well as perfume plants and medicinal plants. Towards the end of the day, you will return to the hotel in Nosy Be accompanied by your tour guide.
Day 6 – Visit Nosy Sakatia
The next day, you will board a boat for the visit of Sakatia Island, a place still wild and authentic, preserved from anthropic actions. Through a walk in the island, you will meet typical plants of the island like coffee trees, pepper trees, mango trees, orchids, raffia, cashew trees, other medicinal plants and notably trees of the traveler (Ravinala).
This visit will also enrich your cultural curiosity by discovering new culture, customs and traditions of the islanders. Day 7 – Visit Nosy Komba - Nosy Tanikely
Nosy Komba or the island of lemurs is about twenty minutes away by speedboat. This island is distinguished by its craft village and its market where wooden arts or embroideries are sold. The visit continues to the park sheltering endemic fauna such as the lemur “macaco”, chameleons, land tortoises, Boa constrictor …
